The Dark Side of Social Media: When the Screen Becomes a Weapon

Image
Social media has brought many good things into our lives. It connects people across the world in seconds. It creates awareness for those suffering from poverty, illness, injustice, or those simply needing help. Many lives have been touched because someone saw a story online and decided to act. In that sense, social media can be powerful and meaningful. But there is also another side to it — a darker side, and sometimes a very sinister one. When social media is used with bad motives, it becomes a weapon. A tool for humiliation, revenge, manipulation, and spreading stories that may not even be true. One post can go viral within minutes. A rumour can reach millions before the truth even has a chance to speak. Lately, I came across news surrounding “Justice for Yu Menglong.” There were so many stories, so many versions, so many voices online — and honestly, I did not know what was true anymore or what to believe. Then I thought about South Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, who also fa...

The Hidden Price of Fame: A Life Behind the Spotlight

Image
Many of us grow up believing that the entertainment world is glamorous, exciting and filled with endless happiness. To become a singer, to stand on stage, to be loved by millions of fans — it seems like a dream life with fame, fortune and no worries at all. I used to think the same way until I came across the story of Yu Menglong and watched his YouTube videos. His story touched me deeply. Behind the smiles, performances and fame was actually a lonely man carrying a heavy burden in silence. He shared how he often had to hide his true feelings, tell lies to protect his image, and could not honestly express himself to fans. It was as though he was trapped inside a cage built by fame itself. A cage filled with deep silence. His rise to fame began after participating in singing competitions in Spain and on America’s Got Talent . His talent and emotional voice captured many hearts around the world. One of the most touching moments was when he sang for his mother who was sufferin...

Wake, Work, Sleep - Is This the Meaning of Life?

Image
Wake, Work, Sleep — Is This the Meaning of Life? Every morning before sunrise, while most people are still asleep, somewhere out there a food hawker is already awake. He drives to the market while the sky is still dark. He buys vegetables, meat, spices, noodles, cooking oil, eggs. He carries heavy bags back home. Then begins the preparation — peeling onions, cutting potatoes, marinating meat, boiling soup, preparing sauces. Hours of unseen labor before the first customer even arrives. By the time the city wakes up, he has already lived half a day. Then the stall opens. Heat. Smoke. Sweat. Endless orders. Some customers are kind, some impatient. When the business ends, exhaustion remains. But tomorrow, the same cycle repeats again. And it is not only the hawkers. Look at the office workers. Doctors. Accountants. Scientists. Engineers. Teachers. Every morning they dress neatly, leave home early, sit in traffic for one hour, arrive at offices, stare at screens, attend me...

When Thoughts Echo Back: Is AI Listening to Our Minds?

Image
Sometimes I think life is strange these days. Whatever we think about, read, or even casually wonder about somehow seems to appear right in front of us out of nowhere. Every morning, I make it a habit to read two books slowly, page by page, taking time to absorb the storyline and reflect on the meaning behind the words. One of the books I am currently rereading is The Choice by Dr. Edith Eva Eger. The book speaks about Auschwitz in 1944 and the suffering of Hungarian Jews during the war. Interestingly, the first time I read the book, I did not pay much attention to the words “Auschwitz” or “Hungarian Jews.” I simply followed the story. But the second time around, I found myself pausing and thinking more deeply about it. What was Auschwitz really like? How horrifying must it have been? I could not fully picture the reality. Then something unexpected happened. While checking my emails, a column from Quora suddenly appeared discussing Auschwitz and Hungarian Jews, complete...

About Me

Image
About Me Carpe diem — seize the day. I believe life is meant to be lived fully, regardless of age. To me, age is just a number, while mindset is everything. The way we think shapes the way we act, and ultimately, the life we create. This blog is a space where I share reflections, lessons, and real-life experiences from my journey. I focus on being open-minded and pragmatic—approaching life as it is, learning from both successes and setbacks, and continuously improving along the way. I value discipline and respect for others’ time. Being punctual is important to me—I believe if we expect progress in life, we should start by honoring our commitments. I also believe in taking action. Words matter, but actions define us. I strive to follow through on what I say and live with intention. Through this blog, I hope to share perspectives that encourage you to: Think differently Stay grounded yet open Take action when it matters Live with purpose and clarity If you believe in growth, minds...

Soap Swap Shenanigans: A Clean Mix-Up

Image
It started as a very responsible moment. I washed my handwash bottle and left it to dry, feeling oddly proud of my small act of organization. Of course, that meant I needed a backup, so I grabbed another bottle—the empty one I had cleaned the day before. Everything was under control… or so I thought. Fast forward to shower time. There I was, reaching for my bodywash. I squeezed some out and immediately paused. “Huh… that’s strange.” The liquid was white. Now, I clearly remembered my bodywash being red. Not slightly pink. Not faded. Red. I stood there, bottle in hand, staring at it like it had betrayed me. “How in the world does bodywash change color overnight?” I wondered. My brain started working overtime, trying to come up with logical explanations. Maybe it settled? Maybe the lighting was weird? Maybe… chemistry? I even gave it another squeeze, just to be sure. Still white. At this point, I was deep in thought, trying to solve what felt like a scientific mystery. A...
